Bookshare.org improves the accessibility of books to the visually impaired and print disabled by providing legal access to over 35,200 books and 150 periodicals that are converted to Braille, large print, or text-to-speech audio files. Schools in the U.S. can take advantage of free Bookshare memberships that give eligible students access to Bookshare's titles and free reader software.

This research project publishes digital versions of outstanding children's books from across the globe. The project's mission is to enlighten young readers to cultural similarities and differences through literature. The goal for the collection is to contain 10,000 titles in more than 100 languages.
